SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- JOHNNY UNRUH! If you attend athletic events at ECS, you will most likely recognize Johnny! He has tons of natural talent that can be seen on the soccer field and the basketball court. His hard work and athletic ability have earned him several league and state basketball honors his junior and senior years. Johnny is a kind soul with a servant's heart and is always willing to help others. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing and watching sports, and clocking many hours in the weight room! Johnny's future plans include attending Hutchinson Community College to begin working on a degree in business. Congratulations, Johnny! We have no doubt that you will do great things!

Connor enjoys mechanics, hiking, riding horses, and tubing, but his absolute favorite is a long motorcycle ride. When he's not out seeking adventure, Connor can be found in the middle of a creative art project or playing guitar. Connor has double graduations coming up in May, as he will be completing the two-year auto mechanics program at the Hutchinson Career & Technical Education Academy and will graduate from Hutchinson Community College with certification in Automotive Technology. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- AXTON FIELDS! Axton is a quiet guy who doesn't draw attention to himself, but he can easily make you laugh with his unexpected quick wit! Ax is a four-year basketball player and track athlete, and also spent several years on Student Council, serving as president his junior year. Axton has a wide variety of adventurous interests including riding motorcycles, traveling, and airsoft (it is somewhat amazing that his 'fun fact' is that he has never broken a bone!), but when it comes to a future career, Axton is focused on software engineering. Axton bleeds purple, so his plan for the fall is to head to Manhattan to become a Kansas State University Wildcat. Congrats, Axton! We can't wait to see what the Lord has planned for you!

She has gotten an early start on her career by earning her CNA and beginning her CMA while in high school, and she is excited to continue her education toward a nursing degree. Ava will be attending Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina next year, where she will also be participating in choir and theater. Congratulations, Ava, go do great things!

After talking about unique engineering issues designers have in creating a space craft for Mars, the 6th grade students were tasked with creating a space lander using only the supplies furnished (paper plates, index cards, straws, cotton balls, tape). The sweet astronauts (big marshmallows) could not be dislodged in its landing. Central's golf team got into the fun as members of each group.
