SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- JEREMIAH BECK! JJ is a kind-hearted young man who is a friend to all! JJ has participated in a variety of activities at ECS, including band, choir, musicals, art, and serving as the manager of the soccer team. He has also been the class treasurer for four years, and he made a name for himself as a secret weapon on the scholar's bowl team in the world languages category! JJ has been a part of the crew who traveled to Hutchinson each afternoon for vo-tech classes, and he will be graduating from Hutchinson Community College this month with certification in Auto Body & Collision Repair. JJ plans to continue his education at Kansas State University in the fall and will major in business. Congratulations, JJ! We can't wait to see how the Lord guides you in the future!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- ALEX ROBERTSON! Alex joined the class his junior year, and he quickly made a name for himself on the basketball court with his amazing three-point shots! Alex is easy-going and a guy of few words, but get him around his friends and he can be quite the jokester. He enjoys hanging out with friends, playing basketball and pickleball, and spending time with his cat. Alex recently signed with Central Christian College in McPherson to play basketball next year. His major is currently undecided. We wish you the very best, Alex, as you take the next steps of your journey!

The elementary students ended last week with a fun-filled day! The 4th graders and their parents participated in the annual Brain Games competitions, and in the afternoon the K-5th grade students had a blast at Field Day. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this day a success for our students!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- MACY REIFF! You may recognize Macy from her hustle on the volleyball court, tumbling on the cheer squad, or running around the track, but she also spends many hours with the journalism crew serving as one of the assistant editors of the school yearbook. This multi-talented young lady is no stranger to being a State qualifier. She has qualified for State in cross country one year, volleyball one year and track for the past three years! Macy is a member of the National Honor Society, a Kansas Scholars Curriculum Completer, and has stepped into leadership on the Student Council this year. She has a heart to serve others, which makes her a perfect candidate for a future career as a nurse! Macy plans to attend Kansas University in the fall and major in nursing. Congratulations, Macy! Go do great things!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- JORY GLENDENING! This girl is an athlete, a scholar, and a musician all wrapped up in one! Jory has been a cheerleader, a volleyball player, and on the journalism staff all four years of high school. She is a proven leader as the yearbook editor, cheer and volleyball co-captain, and a discipleship group leader. She also landed the lead role, as Gabriella, in the fall musical. Jory is known by her teachers and friends to be determined, positive, and loyal! She is a member of the National Honor Society, our May Fete Queen, and the class Salutatorian. Jory is headed to Barton County Community College in the fall to major in exercise science. She also recently found out she made the Barton County cheer team! Jory, keep your eyes focused on the Lord, and keep serving Him in all you do! Congratulations!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- NATE SCHOTT! This young man gives the term "work ethic" a whole new meaning! He is one of the hardest workers you will ever meet and will jump into nearly any task you set before him. On the recent senior mission trip, it became a well-known fact that Nate's "weakness" was not knowing when to take a break! Nate is a kind-hearted guy who has a big servant's heart and shows compassion to others. He is also a gifted artist and enjoys creative projects. Nate has been a student at both ECS and Abounding Hope Christian school all four years of high school and is officially graduating from AHCS. He is excited to venture out into a new job after graduation. Nate, we cannot wait to see what God has planned for you! Congratulations!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- BLAKE ROBERTSON! Blake has done a little bit of everything at ECS...choir, musicals, worship team, scholar's bowl, journalism, soccer, basketball, and track! This multi-talented guy has put in the hard work and has climbed to the top tier of shot put and discus throwers in the state, and he is looking forward to a strong finish for his senior season! Blake is always willing to jump in and serve to help others out, and he will often bring the comedy to nearly any situation. This year he has served as a Discipleship Group Leader and he is our May Fete King. In the fall, Blake will head to Sterling College to major in Biblical Studies and be a member of the Track and Field team. Congratulations, Blake! Go be a world changer!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- MAKENNA CASS! Kenna doesn't know a stranger, and she goes out of her way to help others! She has a wide variety of gifts and talents and loves to try new things. Kenna has played several sports, but she found her love for track early on and has had many successful meets over the years. She qualified for State track as a junior and is on course to earn her way back again as a senior. In addition to track, Kenna can be found on the stage in a musical, in the art room using her creative talents, or spending time outdoors fishing or hanging out with her family! She also enjoys serving on the worship team and leading her discipleship group. Kenna plans to work next year and would like to take cooking classes. Joe has spent the past two years driving to the Hutchinson Career & Technical Education Academy every afternoon, and he will be graduating from Hutchinson Community College with certification in Welding Technology in addition to graduating from ECS. Joe is a fun-loving guy who is quick with a smile and can keep his friends laughing with his sense of humor, even if it means singing karaoke! SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- JAMES SCHOTT! Your first thought of James might be from the soccer field or the basketball court, as he has spent a tremendous number of hours playing both sports! However, James also stepped onto the stage a few times in his high school career, and as a senior he carried the lead role in High School Musical! James enjoys watching movies, playing sports, and hanging out with his dog, Scratch. He is also putting his talent for video games to use as he heads to college. James is diligent and hard-working and earned not only an academic scholarship but also an Esports scholarship to compete on the JBU Esports team. James will be attending John Brown University in the fall and will major in Youth Ministry. Congratulations, James! We wish you the very best!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -- HANNAH BOWER! Hannah is known as a kind and caring encourager who has a love for people! Hannah balances her work as a CNA with her many school activities, as she has been a four-year basketball and track athlete and a discipleship group leader. Countless hours have also been poured into being on the journalism staff, where she currently serves as the assistant editor of the yearbook. Hannah enlisted in the Air National Guard in September and has been attending monthly drills throughout her senior year. She will be heading to basic training this summer and will also complete technical training to become an aerospace medical technician. Hannah then plans to attend college to pursue a nursing degree.
