
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - HANNAH FRIESEN
This young lady earns the honor of being the newest addition to the Class of 2022! Hannah transferred to ECS for her senior year, and her sweet spirit made it easy for her to fit right in with this fun group. Hannah began dancing at age four, and ballet has remained a big part of her life ever since. Earlier this year, Hannah auditioned and was accepted to the dance program at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi! Hannah is a hard worker who embraces new challenges. Wherever God leads her, she will demonstrate integrity, grace, and a heart of joy! Hannah is a National Honor Society member and a Kansas Scholars Curriculum Completer. Hannah, we are so thankful you chose ECS for your senior year! Keep seeking Jesus with everything you do!

SENIORS — That’s a wrap!! Yesterday the seniors received their final awards and had senior recognition at Awards Chapel. Today they had their final classes and cleaned out their lockers! Next stop - graduation on Saturday!



SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - MEGAN KOEHN!
If you have attended an ECS basketball game, you know Megan! She keeps the crowd fired up during games and provides great gymnastics entertainment during time-outs! Megan has spent four years as an ECS cheerleader and has dedicated countless hours to cheer competitions with the Cheer Eclipse All-Star Cheer and Tumbling Academy. Megan was also a member of the ECS track team and qualified twice for State Track. Megan’s friends and teachers would be quick tell you that she is sweet, loyal, and a good listener. Her care for others makes her a perfect candidate for pursuing a future career of nursing. Megan will be attending Hutchinson Community College in the fall and will cheer with the HCC Cheer Squad. Congratulations, Megan! Continue to use your many gifts to serve the Lord!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - JOSH ALLEN
If you haven't seen this young man act or sing, you have been missing out! Josh has held major musical roles all four years of high school in Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere), Annie (Daddy Warbucks), The Wizard of Oz (The Lion), and The Music Man (Professor Harold Hill), and he shines on the stage. Josh is a kind and compassionate young man, with a passion for serving others near and far. He has been a Discipleship Group Leader the past two years, has traveled to Kenya for missions, and is looking forward to a trip to Peru this summer. Josh is our class Salutatorian, KSHSAA Citizenship Award winner, and May Fete King. Josh, we wish you the very best as you follow God's leading and head to Sterling College in the Fall!

Congratulations to Megan Koehn and Ashley Koehn on signing to cheer at Hutchinson Community College! This is a well-deserved honor, and we are excited to see them cheer at the next level!





SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - TREVEN PRICE
If Treven could choose how to spend all of his free time, it would be playing lacrosse, stringing lacrosse heads, or hanging out at the field watching lacrosse! Treven taught himself how to string lacrosse heads at a professional level and is planning to establish an online business flipping equipment. He is the middle child of seven who loves pizza, space, star wars movies, and the Taco Shop! Treven has endured and overcome several challenges and continues to have a fun sense of humor, a huge heart, and a strong sense of justice. Treven has been a student at both ECS and Abounding Hope Christian school all four years of high school and is officially graduating from AHCS. He is excited to put his business mindset to work after graduation. Treven, we cannot wait to see what God has planned for you!



SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - ASHLEY KOEHN
As many of you know, this young lady takes cheerleading to a whole new level! Ashley can be seen flipping and flying across the court at every basketball game, and she spends her weekends competing with the Cheer Eclipse All-Star Cheer and Tumbling Academy. Ashley has also been a member of the ECS track team, and she holds the honor of being ECS’s very first pole vaulter! Ashley is known to be an amazing encourager; she builds up those around her and celebrates others' successes - whether big or small! Ashley will use her compassion for others as she chases her dream of becoming a nurse. She will attend Hutchinson Community College in the fall to study nursing and to cheer on the HCC Cheer Squad. Congratulations, Ashley, we are so proud of you!

The postponed choir concert has been rescheduled with the band concert on Monday evening, May 9. The evening will begin at 6:45 pm with the elementary choirs. Times listed are approximate; each group will begin five minutes after the previous session ends.


This week has been full of the highly-anticipated, long-awaited 4th Grade Brain Games! The challenges are big, and the brain power is bigger! Parents join in on the grand finale to see which team can build the most earthquake resistant structure. It has been a great week!





SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - KYLEE PENNER
Kylee is known at ECS for her dominance on the basketball and volleyball court, but her true love is on the farm with her many animals. Kylee is a Grand Champion barrel racer and has shown her horses at the state fair for many years. Kylee’s fun-loving nature and humor make her a friend to all, and while she was crowned Homecoming Queen this year, she might be more proud of her long-time reign as the Queen of Spirit Week at ECS! Kylee is one of the hardest workers you will ever meet, and she is excited to work at an animal hospital in the near future and have more time with her horses. We have no doubt, Kylee, that you will do great things! Congratulations!

HS Baseball at Beloit on Friday has been canceled due to wet fields. A decision regarding Softball at Hutch Trinity will be made on Friday.


Today was Round 2 of Box Lunches - the guys were cooking and the girls were bidding!





SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - HANNAH FROESE
Miss Hannah Froese has done a little bit of everything at ECS...band, choir, musicals, worship team, volleyball, basketball, and track, and she holds the honor of being the first ever ECS medal winner at State Track! This multi-talented young lady is a member of National Honor Society, our Governor’s Scholar, and the class Valedictorian. Hannah is kind and caring to everyone she meets, and she loves being around children, which will serve her well in her future career! Hannah is headed to John Brown University in the fall to major in Elementary Education. Congratulations, Hannah! Continue to chase your passion for serving the Lord and others, and you will go far!
