It's Homecoming week and that also means spirit week! The students showed off their patriotic spirit with lots of red, white, and blue on USA Day!

The junior high basketball games versus Herington, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9, have been canceled due to weather conditions in Herington. The games will be postponed to a later date.

This morning the May Fete and Homecoming Court seniors gave their testimonies at chapel. It's always a favorite to hear what the Lord has been doing in the lives of our students!

We will have a 2-hr delay tomorrow, 1/8, BUT school is finally back in session!

Due to the weather, the junior high basketball C team games that were scheduled for this afternoon in Moundridge are canceled. These games will possibly be rescheduled so stay tuned for further information.

The elementary students finished out the first semester with Christmas Spirit Week . The themes were Christmas Morning Attire Day, Christmas Colors Day, & Silly Christmas Sweater Day. It was a fun week!

Come out to ECS this evening to watch the high school teams take on Solomon. The sophomore class will be selling a pulled pork meal for $10 so come hungry! In addition, Prospective Family Night is this evening (come check out ECS!) as well as Alumni Night (free admission to connect with old friends!) It's going to be a great night. Let's go, Eagles!

Trace Dearing, ECS 7th grader, is part of the junior high wrestling team at McPherson. This past weekend he scored 21 team points and won first place at the Patriot League Tournament in Augusta. Way to go, Trace!

The freshman recently showed their career presentations in class. They are interested in teaching, pediatrics, dental hygienist, labor and delivery nurse, aeronautical engineering, statisticians, animation, cosmetology, online selling, baking, and construction management. This group will make a big difference in their world!





The sixth graders made Protein Balls for math which meant first converting measurements. There are also called Energy Balls - aptly named!



Thursday afternoon the junior high basketball teams will travel to Goessel. Games begin at 4:30. Let's go, Eagles!

Carlie Joe Rohaus, senior, has qualified for the High School State Women's Choir. This is her third year to participate at the State level. Congratulations, Carlie Joe! It's great to see your hard work paying off!
The ECS Father Daughter Date Night was held last Friday evening in Wichita and it was a blast! Thank you to all who came and participated in this event.

ECS alumni Blake Robertson broke the Sterling College school record for shot put in his first indoor track meet this weekend, and he also qualified for the NCCAA Nationals! Congratulations to Blake for this very impressive freshman debut! We love seeing the accomplishments and success of our alumni. It is a great way to keep in touch with them. Let us know how you are doing, and we would love to recognize you!

The high school basketball teams will compete at home versus Remington on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 4:00. Go Eagles!

This weekend, junior Gabe Standfast participated in the Keeper Wars Ink Tournament, a competition for soccer goalkeepers. He took first place in his division, second place overall, and he received an invitation to participate in Nationals in Orlando next summer! Congratulations, Gabe! Keep working hard!

Head over to Goessel on Saturday afternoon to cheer on the Eagles in the final round of the Bluebird Classic tournament. Girls will play for 3rd place and boys will play for the championship. Go Eagles!

The JV Scholars Bowl went undefeated yesterday in Peabody. Great job, boys!
