My degree is a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and I began teaching at Elyria in 2006, developing the K-12 art program my second year. While teaching art is my current role, I have previously also been a class sponsor, STUCO sponsor, events planner/co-planner, created backdrops for musicals, and assisted with tasks in the office.

Our journey with ECS began when our oldest son started attending the school in kindergarten. When I learned that the high school art teacher was leaving, I inquired about the opening, and the rest, as they say, is history! The love I have for my students and sharing my love for art has kept me at Elyria. I love to encourage my students to see how they were created in God’s image as creative beings.

The Lord works through every person at ECS in some capacity, interacting with each other and the students. We are all a part of the body of Christ sharing our particular gifts, strengths, and love for Jesus. I know God unconditionally loves me through Christ, and I am a work in progress, so I take that approach with teaching my art students. They are all works of art that God is developing into His masterpiece!

When I am not teaching art, I enjoy making jewelry/silversmithing and gardening. My family and I attend Christ-Life Fellowship church.

Favorite Verse:

“I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” - Galatians 2:20
