I began teaching part-time at Elyria in 2022 and also volunteer on the Development/Marketing team. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and International Studies with a minor in Spanish, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
While at Kansas State, I had the opportunity to study Spanish for a semester abroad at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico. I later worked for a semester as a teacher's assistant at La Casa Hogar del Niño, an orphanage in Tamaulipas Tampico. Although this experience wasn't connected to a church, I was able to hand out Bible tracts and pray with the students.
God opened the door for me to teach at ECS, allowing me to bring our boys here and share the gift of language acquisition with students. It’s been a joy to see my own children thrive at Elyria. I am also deeply grateful for the Christian fellowship we share with the staff, administration, and the awesome students at ECS. Each week, our teacher meetings begin with prayer, and we often see those prayers answered throughout the year. It's a blessing to see Elyria families come together to execute their development plan, all working toward making the school an even better place. I regularly pray for my students and for my lesson plans. In the classroom, we begin our class with prayer. We also discuss how learning a new language has a kingdom impact.
Outside of school, I enjoy running, language learning, spending time with my family and friends, and being outdoors. My family and I attend Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson.
