I hold a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Bible, and I’ve been at Elyria since 2009. Over the years, I’ve worked with students in grades 7-12, teaching a variety of social studies subjects, including psychology, government, geography, world history, and U.S. history. In addition to the social studies classes, I've had the opportunity to teach HS girls' Bible classes, guide mixed Bible studies, direct a few plays, and serve as a class sponsor for three classes, including traveling on mission trips. I’ve led a girls' discipleship group in the past, and I currently sponsor our STUCO. I coach nothing because I can't.
After interviewing at several schools, I knew Elyria was the perfect place for me. I stay because I truly love my students and what I do here. It’s been incredible to see how the Lord is working through the staff, with teachers loving their students like family, and student leaders growing in their discipleship. With my son attending ECS, it's even more incredible to see as a parent. Every day at work and at home, I rely on God to equip me to serve Him and His people, trusting that He will guide my steps.
When at home, I enjoy podcasts, true crime, history, decorating, and occasionally crafting. My family and I attend Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church.
