I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began working at ECS in 2015, teaching Spanish and serving as an administrative assistant. When our children reached school age, we wanted them to attend a school that would reinforce the values we were teaching at home rather than pulling in the opposite direction. Elyria aligned with that desire, making it an easy choice for our family.
I stay at ECS for the same reason I began: to provide my own children with a Christian education and to be part of the mission to guide other students toward the Lord. At ECS, every child hears the Word of God through memory verses, songs, and chapel services. For some, the impact is immediate, while for others, it's a seed being planted that will hopefully bear fruit in time. My approach in working with students is rooted in an eternal perspective. While what students learn in the classroom is important, the relationships we build and the influence we have for Christ will last far beyond the subject matter.
Outside of school, I love to thrift shop, decorate, garden, read, water/sun activities, and hang out with my family. We are blessed to be part of the CrossPoint church family.
Favorite Verse:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” - Isaiah 43:1-3
